YA Movie News Roundup: DIVERGENT DIVERGENT DIVERGENT

Welcome back to the YA Movie News Roundup, and we're here just in the nick of time, because the final Divergent trailer was just released!

Read Posh's writeup of the trailer here! And see below a couple of clips from Shailene Woodley and Theo James' appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, which included ziplining and lots of cuteness.

I wasn't really sure how to talk about this, because Philip Seymour Hoffman has long been my favorite actor and his loss is so much bigger than this one role. But his take on Plutarch Heavensbee in the Hunger Games franchise is part of his incredible legacy, and it's news. Lionsgate reports that, barring one major scene that can be reworked, Hoffman's performance in Mockingjay 1&2 is largely finished.

In case you missed it: The Fault in Our Stars trailer debuted last week, and Posh headed to the lab for a highly scientific analysis.

Not YA but relevant to our interests: a Back to the Future musical. And a Meg Ryan-directed movie starring Tom Hanks!

Some developments on the Choose Your Own Adventure movie: Night at the Museum writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon are tapped to handle the script, and We Are the Millers director Rawson Marshall Thurber will helm the adaptation.

Akiva Goldsman has been brought in to work on the Insurgent script.

News from the Veronica Mars Kickstarter emails that I can't link to so take my word for it: the movie is almost finished, with some light editing and ADR left to wrap up. It will almost definitely be rated PG-13, which means they get to use one F-word and director Rob Thomas thinks we'll believe they used it wisely.

That's it for this week - lemme know your thoughts on any of the above down below!
