Welcome back to the YA Movie News Roundup! Huge, huge thanks to the kickass Mandy W for doing such a wonderful job covering for me while I was at SXSW last week. Now let's get to it!
The Maze Runner is officially the YA movie on deck now that Veronica Mars has finally settled into theaters (with very good reviews and solid box office), and Divergent is already upon us. You can see the new official poster for The Maze Runner above, and watch the trailer below!
Speaking of that solid box office for Veronica Mars - a sequel is a possibility! I'm trying to not get my hopes up, but V solving cases in Neptune would make the most amazing film franchise. Then again - are we worried about a dilution of quality in future films? Either way, I'm currently reading and enjoying the Veronica Mars novel, so look for that review soon!
And speaking of Divergent being upon us: yikes. Early reviews are not good.
There's a new Maleficent teaser! The full trailer should arrive later today.
And here's an image of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent and her daughter Vivienne as Aurora. Apparently Vivienne got the honor because she was the only one of the Brangelina brood not terrified of Angie in that getup.
Rooney Mara has been cast as Tiger Lily in Joe Wright's Pan. White-washing aside, this movie's going to be good, guys.
Some more Mockingjay news in light of Philip Seymour Hoffman's untimely death.
And we don't really have to worry about J.K. Rowling forsaking the world of Harry Potter, do we?
