Procrastination Pro-Tips: Butterfly in the Sky

Guys, there is no time for an awkward intro this week. I HAVE TOO MUCH INTERNET TO TALK ABOUT.

Book Related Things

Have you been keeping up with the battle between Amazon and Hachette?  Team Hachette all the way (although, if you didn’t know Amazon was evil by now, you obviously haven’t been paying attention.  I love Amazon...but evil.  I mean, they would rather stage ambulances outside for their workers than pay for air-conditioning in their warehouses.)  If you want to show Hachette your support, how about purchasing some of their books from your local independent bookseller?  Or just from anywhere but Amazon.  Some of my favorite Hachette (Little, Brown) YA authors include A.S. King, Sara Zarr and Laini Taylor.  Who are yours?

Reading Rainbow (or, an online version of it) is getting kickstarted!  It already doubled it’s goal in about a day.  But go and donate anyway.  Think of the children!

RIP Maya Angelou.  If you want even more Maya themed reading, Buzzfeed has you covered.

The Toast is hitting it out of the park this week with: how to tell if you’re in a Jane Austen novel, Ayn Rand’s Harry Potter and this piece on women and fairytales.

Amy Poehler’s new book!  Just look at that cover.  Love it already.

Did you forget that Kylie and Kendall Jenner were "writing" a YA book?  I sure did.  But here’s an excerpt.

More awesome nail art, inspired by book covers.

Beverly Cleary is the best.

First the Brits tax our tea.  Now they think they’re too good for our books!

Movie Related Things

Take a peek at John Green’s TFIOS cameo.  (Apparently acting isn’t his strong suit.)  And in case you wanted to read more about that time John Green came to the Alamo Drafthouse and hung out with our very own Posh Deluxe.

Animated film news!  We’ve got the first details for the next Pixar film (and it sounds great.)  Plus, the first trailer from Guillermo del Toro’s Day of the Dead themed movie, Book of Life.

Skyler Samuels joins The DUFF movie, which only makes me wonder: BENJAMIN STONE, WHERE ARE YOU???

The Giver character posters are actually pretty good.

GOOD.

TV Related Things

Apparently the higher ups at the BBC, in their utter cluelessness, thought women wouldn’t be attracted to David Tennant or Benedict Cumberbatch.  HAHAHAHAHA, oh BBC.

And the BBC gives us our first teaser for season 8 of Doctor Who.

All sorts of exciting news in the casting of villains for Disney’s Descendants (including Kathy Najimy!!)

Netflix’s Daredevil show has cast its lead.  Also, Netflix is working on a series about Queen Elizabeth II.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal will be streaming on Crunchyroll!

Community might not be dead yet.  There have been talks to bring it back via Hulu.

The detail on these Game of Thrones costumes is amazing.  Also, season 5 casting news.

NERD ALERT!  A look at Star Trek: The Next Generation on the 20th anniversary of the series finale.  And for you ST:TNG fans, check out Wil Wheaton’s new show on Syfy.  (It’s basically the nerd version of The Soup.)

Miscellaneous Things

This acapella group just took things to a whole new level with this Newsies medley.

Badass Digit takes a look at the #YesAllWomen twitter response earlier this week and here’s a roundup from The Mary Sue.

Just a photoshoot, but this is what a Hunger Games themed wedding might look like, if you wanted an inappropriately themed wedding.

Now that’s quite enough from me.  What do you want to talk about?
