Welcome back to the YA Movie News Roundup! Let's get to it.
In case you missed this last week: Zombie and Evan have been cast in the upcoming adaptation of The Fifth Wave, also starring Chloe Grace Moretz. They're these two dudes you see above.
News on The Giver: director Phillip Noyce admits that the first trailer, which was in full color and therefore caused lots of fan commotion, was "an error."
That first teaser trailer was put out by the publicity department without real consultation with us. Even if they had consulted with us, without thinking as a filmmaker, I might have said, 'Oh, that’s in color, okay. I guess that’s the best way to sell the movie, even though it’s not entirely in color.' It was an error. It doesn’t reflect our interpretation of the novel. It doesn’t reflect the movie.
Okay! Also, Lois Lowry writes a bit on HuffPo about The Giver.
Jandy Nelson's popular YA book I'll Give You the Sun has been optioned by Warner Bros. as an upcoming film.
In case you missed Posh's post on it: check out President Snow's eerie Panem address:
Sarah Polley is in talks to direct an adaptation of John Green's Alaska, which would be GREAT for Alaska because Sarah Polley is an incredible filmmaker!
That's it for this week! Give us your thoughts in the comments.
