YA Movie News Roundup: Disney’s INTO THE WOODS Trailer

Welcome back to the YA Movie News Roundup, where the regular beat has been a little slow this week. But we have plenty of fun tidbits for you guys, so dive in!

FIRST: this is not YA, but it's crucial to anyone with discerning tastes, which I know includes all of you. The first teaser for Disney's Sondheim musical adaptation Into the Woods!

Into the Woods tells the story of a gang of fairy tale characters who enter a dark forest in the hopes of achieving their deepest wishes. The film stars Meryl Streep as the Witch, James Corden as the Baker, Emily Blunt as the Baker’s Wife, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as her Prince, Mackenzie Mauzy as Rapunzel, Billy Magnussen as her Prince, Christine Baranski as Cinderella’s Stepmother, Lilla Crawford as Red Riding Hood, Daniel Huttlestone as Jack, Tracey Ullman as Jack’s Mother, and Johnny Depp as the Wolf. (Yes, the cast is that large, and they’re all pretty important.)

Unfortunately, the trailer isn't embeddable, but check it out here! It's super fun.

Author Margaret Stohl announced a new YA Marvel series, and that is cool.

The Giver nail polish. It's all black and white, except the pinky nail is red. Kidding! They're not as clever as me.

Elle Fanning's going to star in the film adaptation of Jennifer Niven’s debut YA novel All the Bright Places.

The book is a love story told in alternating voices about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die. When Violet and Finch meet atop the bell tower at school, a unique bond is formed, and an unspoken promise made: stop counting the days and start living them.

The summary and title put me in mind of this BRILLIANT Onion article.

The film adaptation of John Green's Paper Towns gets a release date: July 31, 2015! And Tim Burton's version of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, with the new title Peregrine's Home for Peculiars, has been bumped to March 4, 2016.

And finally, not YA but obviously super relevant: a Paul Feig-directed, all-woman Ghostbusters?!

That's it for this week - give us your thoughts downstairs!
