YA Movie News Roundup: THE GIVER Reviews Are In

Welcome back to the YA Movie News Roundup, where we deliver the good news and the bad. And today, for fans of The Giver, the news is not great.

Reviews are in for the adaptation of Lois Lowry's beloved novel, which Jeff Bridges has been trying to bring to the big screen for years, and the word is pretty bad. Tepid at best. Kerensa gave her FYA two cents here.

But we'll try again this week, as If I Stay hits theaters on Fridays. Look for Posh's review then! Here's some scoop on the red carpet premiere, and here's an interview in which author Gayle Forman talks about the film adaptation.

And we've got a few more chances for more successful YA adaptations in 2014; here's a list of the upcoming YA movies for the remainder of the year.

GUYS. Sigourney Weaver is joining Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson for the feature adaptation of Patrick Ness' A Monster Calls. That's all well and good - any time Sigourney Weaver joins a cast, it's good - but tell us more about the Charlie Kaufman-penned Knife of Never Letting Go!

People has some ideas on which YA novels should be movies. I bet you have some ideas, too.

And finally, not YA but always relevant to our interests: the trailer for Lifetime's TOTALLY UNAUTHORIZED !!!! behind-the-scenes Saved by the Bell movie, for your giggling pleasure:

WATCHING THIS.

That's it for this week - give us your thoughts downstairs!
