Previously, on iZombie: Liv needed more tainted Utopium from Blaine to make more of the zombie cure. Major was blackmailed into becoming a zombie assassin, and has been drowning his sorrows in Utopium, and Gilda. Peyton came back to town.
Hi zombie loving friends! I hope you all got a good night’s sleep, unlike those of us who stayed out too late at an FYA book club bachelorette party. But never mind! Let’s talk about Major’s bad decisions, not mine.
Grey Matters
Liv took Peyton a green juice, they patched things up, and it got very dusty in here. Shirtless Major (hallelujah!) woke up with that awful spy, Gilda (booo!), and likely some regrets.
Peyton is trying to get criminals to spill details to her Utopium task force, but isn’t having any luck getting anyone to roll over. When she finally does get a cooperative witness, it’s Blaine. He feeds her all sorts of likely useless info on the Hong Kong Utopium import network. He turned the charm on full power, and Peyton is intrigued. Meanwhile, Blaine had located the only guy who knows what the tainted Utopium was cut with, and has turned him zombie.
Brain Melt
- Blaine is on to the fact that his affluent customers are disappearing. This does not bode well for Major!
- Liv tells Major that she’ll probably never stop loving him, but that she has to let him go forever. He says some cruel things in return. It’s all terrible!
- Major invited Peyton to stay a few days, without warning Ravi, and lost the dog while zoned out on Utopium, causing him and Ravi to have a huge fight.
- And we have kissing!
The Brain
Lacy Cantrell, transplanted Texan, and a waitress at country music bar, The Slow Roll, was choked to death. He ex-boyfriend, Max, was just released from prison. He claims to have hardly seen her since she cheated on him with his friend. She’d also been hit on by her sleazy boss, Rick, and poured coffee on him and knocked out his tail light in retaliation. Rick shows up at the police station with his pregnant wife, claiming the coffee spilling incident was because Lacy was in love with him. When his wife finds out the truth, she recants his alibi, and gives him a couple good wallops. But then, she gives a false statement to Clive. The brain has Liv overflowing with folksy expressions, picking at pawn shop guitars, and showing up for songwriter night at the country bar.
The Real Monster
It really seemed like it had to be one of the two obviously shady men in Lacy’s life, but Clive ends up tying the murder to a convenience store robbery that the police were also following up on. Lacy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Winners and Chewsers
Winner: Clive. He solved the murder of the week, without Liv’s “psychic” visions, and was informed he’ll be working with assigned FBI agent, Dale Bozzio, on the missing prominent citizens in town, like the astronaut and Terrence Fowler. Plus, the cute new FBI agent is obviously into him.
Loser: Major. He runs into one of the kids who used to counsel at the shelter, while out scoring more drugs. This appears to finally be his rock bottom and he shows up at Liv’s door, asking for help. Hopefully, things will start looking up for this poor dude.
Words With a Bite
“That’s the smell of sex and self-loathing.” - Major
“You named the dog Minor?” - Liv
“Clive, this is a safe zone. Tell us about his weight on you.” - Ravi
“Why don’t you wrap up one of those banjos for me, while you’re at it? Later we’ll do some pickin’ and grinnin’.” - Clive
“I’m a walking sex experiment.” - Ravi
“Well, butter my butt and call it a biscuit.” - Liv
“Two of our customers have gone missing. Two, poof, gone, like it’s frickin’ rich zombie rapture. Can’t a guy make an honest living creating undead and selling them cadaver brains?” - Blaine
“What if, in the middle of my song, some redneck yells ‘show us your hooters!’ and I go into full-on zombie mode?” - Liv
Picking Your Brain
- Maybe Peyton’s place of business isn’t the best place to meet prospective suitors?
- At what point do we question Clive’s investigative skills for still being oblivious to Liv’s personality disorder?
- Yay for Major finally asking for help! But, maybe put the makeout on hold for now?
- Is Cowboy Ravi your new favorite Ravi? Let's discuss in the comments!
