Teen OTP Madness: U.S.S. Passion, Sweet Sixteen

Heilige Scheiße Bälle, you guys, and forgive what is probably badly butchered German from fifteen years ago, but Katniss and Peeta beat out Cory and Topanga by ONE VOTE. ONE.

DANKE.

We also bid farewell to Angela and Jordan, Rae and Finn, and *sob* Seth and Summer.

We'll keep on keepin' on, I GUESS. To the bracket!

This week, we're looking at fan art--when a couple inspires you so, there's only one thing to do...and that's draw them. Or collage them together in Photoshop with a favorite quote. Whichever way you slice it, we all win.

(1) Buffy/Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) vs. (5) Joey/Pacey (Dawson's Creek)

Angsty vampire, high school girl: it all lends itself to a lot of dark collages, particularly with Angel's "passion" poem. And yet, how could I deny you this? (Try as I might, I couldn't find the original source.)

Meanwhile, on the Joey/Pacey front, we have an equal number of photoshop collages. Being that this was the height of the 90s, I was not surprised--but when I saw this, I knew that I had found a fan art champion. The dress! The sleeves! I mean, who hasn't pictured Joey and Pacey's wedding? Well, here it is.

(6) Jack/Rose (Titanic) vs. (2) Katniss/Peeta (The Hunger Games)

Given that so many of use thought that true love was displayed and then drowned in the icy depths of the ocean, you might expect that there is a lot of Titanic fan art, some good, some downright odd (holy crap, there's a lot of AU/crossover fan art!). For my part, I liked this pretty Prismacolor pencil drawing, which the artist says is/was in progress--but I think it's lovely as it is.

When it comes to Katniss and Peeta, there is some seriously awesome fan art out there. It was hard to choose (I highly recommend visiting this i09 roundup), but I eventually settled on this piece by Kate Wheeler. The composition is so gorgeous, and the berries (!) are a nod to the end of the first book.  (Her other art is excellent too!)

So who'll it be, readers? Polls close Saturday, March 26 at 11:59pm, with results on Sunday!
