YA Onscreen: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Gets A Goosebumps-Worthy Teaser

Welcome back to YA Onscreen! Let's hop to.

The first teaser for Bill Condon's live-action Beauty and the Beast movie is here, and it gave me legit goosebumps. Posh saw some footage at CinemaCon and confirms that it looks GREAT. I can't wait!!

Oh man, UnReal's Freddie Stroma and Johanna Braddy are ENGAGED IN REAL LIFE!!! Their story took a decidedly better turn than Adam and Anna's.

And OH BY THE WAY, Freddie Stroma is returning for UnReal Season 2, which is pretty major.

“I just think Adam and Rachel’s story is not over,” creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro told us. “They left it in such a strange way. They have a lot more to do to each other.”

AGREED.

Gilmore Girls scoop! The revival has an official title ("A Year in the Life" - I personally liked the teased "Seasons" better), and a teaser poster:

Also! Here's a great roundup of behind-the-scenes selfies from the revival set.

The trailer for the first season of Greg Berlanti's Riverdale show debuted at The CW upfronts last week, and it was exclusive so we can't watch it. But this site summarized it for us, and it sounds...scary? Archie's involved in a murder, and he had an illicit relationship with MS. GRUNDY?! That is bananas. I'm in, hilariously. An excerpt:

"This story is about a town, a small town, sweet, innocent. But if you look close enough you start to see the shadows underneath the town and sometimes the shadows take over." There's a murder, and one couple says "I hope in his last moments he suffered." Archie says "I've changed" to Betty. Veronica walks in, she just moved to town with her mom. Her dad, it sounds like, has been in some kind of scandal. Betty's mom is very controlling, and keeping her drugged to be "focused." This isn't your daddy's Archie. There's a lot of intrigue, and it looks like this murder will be the central mystery of the season.

Finally, TNT has ordered the pilot of Will, about young William Shakespeare in London's 16th century "punk-rock theater scene." Haha sigh.

That's it for this week! Give us your thoughts downstairs.
