This Week on ReMade
While the kids continue to make themselves at home in the empty city, the city itself watches. Her name is Arcadia, and she’s been waiting for someone to serve (again) for a long time. She thinks back on the last time humans walked her streets as the kids plan a Christmas celebration … and begin to couple off.
Arcadia also thinks about the fact that the caretakers used to work for her, but they slowly went mad, and so she banished them. But they’re at her borders once again, drawn by the kids. She can protect them, but possibly not forever.
Moments of WHUT
- So Arcadia has/is an intelligence?! And she’s taking care of the kids ...
- Wow, that caretaker attack culled their numbers from 23 to 14. Brutal.
- Eight hundred years!
Best of the Bunch
Although their moment together was short, the way Gabe “courted”—to use Arcadia’s term—May was absolutely adorable. The mix of his respect for her personal boundaries and confidence in telling her how he feels had me swooning.
Burning Questions
- What happened to make Arcadia’s people evacuate?
- Where did they go when they left?
- Why were the kids remade, and what purpose will they serve? It’s likely been at least a thousand years since their first lives ...
