YA Onscreen: RIVERDALE Goes Deeper

Welcome back to YA Onscreen! Due to some work changes—real lives, we have ‘em—Meredith is stepping down from this series. But never fear, FYA HQ won’t let you go without your weekly roundup of YA adaptation news, and the series will continue under new management.

Before we jump in, however, a huge THANK YOU to Meredith for all of her hard work on this series over the years! We hope we’ll do you justice. <3

Now, onto the news.

Here’s a trailer for Riverdale, which is already a fave show around FYAHQ (and most of us haven’t even seen it yet).

Meredith wrote about it, and the great new poster, over on Birth. Movies. Death.

I didn’t spot her in the trailer, but Molly Ringwald will play Archie’s mom in Riverdale.

ICYMI, a trailer for season 4 of The 100 was released last week:

We might have flailed a little bit about it.

Beauty and the Beast producer Jack Morrissey might have revealed that there is a lesbian and/or gay couple in the live action adaptation.

Jandy Nelson will adapt her own book into the screenplay for The Sky is Everywhere film.

Nicola Yoon's The Sun is Also a Star is also getting a movie adaptation.

Here’s a trailer for Pretty Little Liars' final season:

Orange is the New Black’s Ruby Rose has joined Pitch Perfect 3.

Not exactly YA, but of interest: Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale adaptation (starring Elisabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes) will premiere Wednesday, April 26.

Also not exactly YA, but definitely of interest: Here are the results of Birth.Movies.Death.’s worst movie poster of 2016 contest. #JaiBless
