Teen BFF Madness: Forever Friends, Round One

Whenever FYA's March Madness rolls around, I'm always interested in finding a pattern in my bracket. (Aside from the pattern of, like, optimized heartbreak because OMG HOW DO I CHOOSE?) The theme for this one is def. BFF groups; Forever Friends has as many (8) as all the other Teen BFF Madness brackets combined! The more, the merrier... until they're pitted against each other, and it becomes AGONY.

First, let's take a look at the Forever Friends bracket

Onto the matchups vying for your votes!

(1) Buffy/Willow/Xander (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) vs. (16) Emma/Manny (Degrassi: The Next Generation)

You know that cliché "It's an honour to be nominated"? Someone had to rep the long-running D:TNG, so who better than a pair of BFFs from the O.G. cast? Not many would fare well against Buffy and her main Scoobies anyway, but bless your hearts for trying, Emma and Manny.

(2) Blair/Serena (Gossip Girl) vs. (15) Jenna/Cameron (Sweethearts)

Two lifelong friendships upended by sudden disappearances, only to be reunited in dramatic fashion. But will it be one from the Upper East Side or from Salt Lake City?

(3) Bee/Carmen/Lena/Tibby (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) vs. (14) Skylar/Dylan/Chris (I'll Meet You There)

Two literary BFF groups enter, only one may advance. It comes down to this*: Pants or Paradise (Motel)?

*No, it does not. But I also don't know your life, so maybe it does!

(4) Betty/Veronica (Archie/Riverdale) vs. (13) Clark/Pete/Chloe (Smallville)

Aka the Battle for Meredith Borders' Heart, with Riverdale being one of her current faves and Smallville a forever fave. Both sets of BFFs come from rich comic book lore, with TV adaptation changes for the better (Betty and Veronica as non-rivals; Chloe as existing at all). Which small-town besties will emerge victorious?

(5) Aria/Emily/Hanna/Spencer (Pretty Little Liars) vs. (12) Simon/Leah/Nick/Abby (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda)

This is apparently the all-blackmail matchup between the Rosewood High Liars and the Creekwood High crew. Which 'Wood will win?

(6) Jen/Jack (Dawson's Creek) vs. (11) Cook/Freddie/JJ (Skins)

It's easy to say that you'd do anything for your BFF, but these friendships walk the walk: Jen and Jack always had each other's backs through thick and thin, whereas the Three Musketeers would quite literally kill for each other. (Well, at least one of them definitely would.)

(7) Roberta/Teeny/Samantha/Chrissy (Now and Then) vs. (10) Mia/Lilly (The Princess Diaries)

Many have come and gone since, but the girls of Now and Then were probably my original Fantastic Four. I didn't continue with The Princess Diaries beyond the first installment of both the books and the films (plus the Chris Pine parts of the second movie), so I don't have a strong attachment to Mia and Lilly -- which I'm sure won't be the case for some of y'all.

(8) Brooke/Peyton (One Tree Hill) vs. (9) Alec/Jace (The Mortal Instruments/Shadowhunters)

How could any friendship go up against one that's magically bonded as BFFs? With BROOKE PENELOPE DAVIS, that's how. Probably a better bestie than Peyton deserved at times -- many times -- so maybe that's making the case for Alec and Jace after all. I don't know, y'all; DECIDE FOR ME.

Polls close this Saturday at 11:59pm Central, with results posted on Sunday. So which frienships are you pulling for? Let us know in the comments below!
