With the artifact hunt and photo hunt finally underway, #YASummerShowdown 2017 is officially in full swing! Let's check out what the teams have been up to these past two weeks.
Puzzle 2: Puzzle Us This
For Puzzle 2, teams had to identify a book and its author by rearranging a scrambled opening paragraph. The speediest solvers were LRFYA, LONFYA, and AVLFYA. Can you figure it out?
Artifact Hunt
Just like last year, the artifact hunt now spans the entire duration of Showdown gameplay, with new items added at the start of each Part. Here's a look at the Part I items and submissions!
• Use a Snapchat filter on a face on a YA cover (#oh snap ya)
• Find a stranger matching a YA cover (#wild cover cosplay)
• Match Big Face covers to real faces (#big face showdown)
• Design a coffee order inspired by a YA character (#fya coffee)
• Take turns adding to stories with contributions from each Showdown team (#exquisite corpse fya)
In all honesty, I’ve watched enough teen romantic comedies that it shouldn’t have taken me so long to figure out the answer. What we needed was a makeover montage.

Photo Hunt
This year's photo hunt has an exciting new twist, with each title only able to be used only once during the entire competition. Which means spreading the YA love for tons of different titles!
