Overview
Every month, MyBookBox sends subscribers two books from six different categories—Women’s Fiction, Mystery, Non-Fiction, Young Adult, Children 8–12, and Children 3–7—along with bookish goodies.
According to the Cratejoy description for the box: “Each month we work with publishers to preview and read upcoming releases in 6 genres. Our team of educators, publishers and book lovers hand select our books so each month we ensure that you are getting great books that are worth reading, plus a little surprise just for you!”
MyBookBox subscriptions are $35.95 per month, plus shipping.
The Box
I received the June MyBookBox featuring the YA and middle grade novels.
Included in the box was:
- A copy of Sandhya Menon’s When Dimple Met Rishi and a copy of Laurel Snyder’s Orphan Island, both with notes from the author.
- An Out of Print “Banned Books” pouch.
- A MyBookBox reusable tote.
- A couple of MyBookBox bookmarks.
The Verdict
I love the fact that you get two books in the MyBookBox box, because, really, who doesn’t want more books? I also think the mixing of categories is pretty genius. Sometimes it can be hard to break out of reading from only one genre, and the different categories offers something for most people. It would be great for a household with multiple children of different ages, too.
As far as the accessories go, I’ll never pass up something from Out of Print, and the reusable tote is super useful in addition to being delightfully bookish. Perfect for library hauls or packing all those books you plan to read on a road trip.
