Overview

Each My Guilty Pleasures Book Crate box comes with a new YA novel and accessories.

According to their site: “My Guilty Pleasures Book Crate is a book box that is put together by hand by our team (which is a family of 4) and sprinkled with lots of love. You will receive one newly released/bestseller from the genre you choose and 2-4 bookish goodies to your door. We offer our subscribers erotic/contemporary, historical, new adult, and young adult. Variety is what makes our crate special.”

My Guilty Pleasures Book Crate subscriptions are $29.99 per month, plus shipping.

The Box

The theme of the July My Guilty Pleasures Book Crate was Wonder Woman.

Included in the box was:

- A copy of Lesley Livingston’s The Valiant and themed nail decals. (The other options for the month were Kacey Shea’s Detour (Contemporary Romance/New Adult Romance), and Jo Goodman’s A Touch of Frost or Anne Gracie’s Marry in Haste (Historical Romance).)

- A Wonder Woman Funko POP.

- An exclusive “I am Wonder Woman” bookmark illustrated by Lexy Folkes.

- An exclusive Themyscira candle from Wick and Fable.

- A Wonder Woman art print designed by Cristo Petroff.

- A Wonder Woman watercolor print illustrated by Aurora Wienhold.

The Verdict

I really enjoyed the Wonder Woman movie, and I've long loved Wonder Woman for all that she stands for, so receiving a box themed after the amazing Amazon was right up my alley. I’m also a collector of Funko POPs, so the inclusion of the Wonder Woman POP—a version I don’t already own, at that—was a double win. The Themyscira candle also smells delish, and brought back memories delightful memories of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor (and that scene in the natural baths ...). I do wish the art prints were a little better quality, printing wise, but the bookmark is gorgeous.

I also really enjoyed The Valiant (check out my review here), and it’s a fitting book to include in a badass lady themed box. Plus, there was confetti in the box, which I know some people hate, but I think adds a nice touch to any presentation.
