There Will Be A GILMORE GIRLS Reunion At ATX Television Festival!

I've attended all three years of the ATX Television Festival, and I've written a lot here about what a terrific fest it is, a weekend-long celebration of all the greatness TV has to offer. Last year, Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls and Bunheads and one of my writing heroes, was scheduled to attend, but unfortunately it fell through. BUT Lauren Graham, the hilarious and luminous star of Gilmore Girls, was a surprise attendee on the panel for her current show, Parenthood, and I've been hoping and hoping something like this might be in the works.

And sure enough! In June 2015 (4th-7th, to be exact), there will be a Gilmore Girls reunion among Amy Sherman-Palladino, Lauren Graham and her one-time fictional daughter, Alexis Bledel.

I AM LOSING IT.

This is a super rare occurrence - these three haven't been onstage together since Sherman-Palladino left the series in Season 6, back in 2006. It's pretty major news and I am overwhelmed with joy to hear it. June cannot get here fast enough.

There will also be a Dawson's Creek writers' room reunion, and I think a writers' room reunion is a very cool idea. It'll include creator Kevin Williamson, showrunner Greg Berlanti (currently behind The FlashArrow and the upcoming Supergirl and Riverdale) and writers Jenny Bicks, Julie Plec, Rob Thomas, Liz Tigelaar, Paul Stupin, Rina Mimoun, Maggie Friedman, Anna Fricke and Dana Baratta. I'm really excited at the chance to see a panel with Berlanti, Williamson and Liz Tigelaar, who's written on a ton of great shows and is the creator of a short-lived series I quite liked called Life Unexpected

But the main news, clearly, is this Gilmore Girls thing, and I might have to go breathe in a paper bag for a few minutes after I'm done writing this. If you've never seen Gilmore Girls, there's no time like the present to start - all seven seasons were just added to Netflix last month! I recapped the entire series for FYA - you can follow that here
