Previously on The Originals: Mikaelson prophecy of death. Elijah compelled Aurora to think Klaus was a monster. Davina had her enemy killed, and the enemy’s son vows to find out the truth. Lucien came into possession of a medallion that could destroy the Mikaelsons. Rebekah was daggered by the Strix, and then stolen by Aurora.
The Original Dysfunctional Family Drama
Elijah enlists Marcel to make sure Davina doesn’t activate the medallion. Marcel wants Davina to leave town, to avoid being caught between the feuding vampires, but she refuses to run. Marcel asks Vincent to help with the Davina situation. Vincent’s plan is to make sure the witches know that she had her rival killed. The consequences are losing her title, being shunned by the coven and losing her connection to the ancestors.
Klaus and Aurora play happy couple, and Aurora assures the brothers that as long as everyone cooperates, they’ll get Rebekah back. The Mikaelsons invite their nemesis allies to Thanksgiving dinner. As one does. Lucien tells Klaus about kidnapping Cami to take the medallion, and makes sure that Aurora knows all about Klaus’ great affection for Cami. Due to the threat of vampire wars, Tristan’s idea is to use the medallion to seal the Mikaelsons away forever, thus keeping their sire lines safe from extinction. Both groups spend the day making threats and trying to turn each side against each other. Hayley and Freya try to torture some answers out of Aurora, but Aurora made sure that she and Tristan equally share the information necessary for locating Rebekah, so neither of them can be killed. In the end, Klaus breaks Tristan’s neck and makes it clear that he’s keeping Tristan, as long as Aurora has Rebekah.
Cami is still being held by Lucien, but manages to get the upperhand while he’s away, by taking away her vampire babysitter’s daylight ring. Her daring escape is interrupted by a jealous Aurora. Klaus tears Lucien’s penthouse apart, upon finding her gone, but is distracted by one shiny medallion.
Jackson would prefer that Hayley stay out of the vampire fight, but Hayley believes she owes Rebekah for protecting baby Hope. Jackson gets so upset about her missing their family Thanksgiving because of her loyalty to the Mikaelsons, that he heads back to the bayou for the night. These two might want to consider a marriage counselor.
Holy Fang
Vincent set Davina up!
Aurora hid Rebekah at the bottom of the ocean!
Cami cut off a vampire’s finger!
Winners and Losers
Winner: Lucien. He’s not currently in either side’s good graces, but he’s still alive, and he just gave Klaus one of the three things he wants. Not being related to his allies, Lucien can pretty easily swing either way his luck is going.
Loser: Davina. This was heartbreaking. Poor Davina Clare is already an orphan with very few friends. The coven was the only thing this volatile girl had going for her. I have a feeling her reaction isn’t going to be what Marcel and Vincent had hoped for.
Original Snark
“In the meantime, please tell me that we’re gonna kill someone.” Bloodthirsty Hayley is my favorite.
“You see madness, I see method.” Klaus, splitting crazy hairs.
“You tortured Detective Kinney and gave him a compulsion lobotomy. Not to mention, you’re holding ME against my will, and using up all of my minutes.” Abusing Cami’s cell phone account is clearly the worst of Lucien’s crimes.
“Seriously? Football? You’re a vampire!” You’re right, Cami. Soccer would be far more appropriate.
“Which of these two vulgar parasites would you first like to torture?” Throw in some politics, and Elijah could be discussing any of our Thanksgivings.
“Tristan, I can’t murder you this very moment, but I could just as easily tear those eyeballs from your skull and feed them to your sister.” Well, Elijah. That was possibly more graphic than the rest of our celebrations.
Haunting Questions
- Who do the Mikaelsons compel to decorate every inch of their home at a moment’s notice? And are they available locally?
- Who knew Elijah had such definite opinions on stuffing? “Walnuts, honestly.”
- If it came down to Aurora or Cami, would Klaus choose the one he’s loyal to, or the one who has his sister?
- Is there any possible way Jackson and Hayley are going to stay together?
